Abstract

Dealing with ammunition fuzes is a high-risk task due to the inclusion of high sensitive explosive materials that may explode if not treated with care. In this work, the design and manufacturing of a disassembly device were explained. The device is based on
a pneumatic system to improve safety in a process attached to highly sensitive explosive materials. The design was implemented using different manufacturing processes such as milling, lathe, and CNC machines in addition to welding. The disassembly operation was accomplished using a predetermined amount of air, and speed controlled from one hundred meters. The device is useful in production and R&D processes as it saves the time of disassembly and reduces the explosion risk.
