Delay coker unit in the refinery plants treat heavy basic oil or top filtrate to more valuable products through the process called thermal cracking process. This unit need controlling and tuning system to achieve quality product, process stability, and safe equipment from damages and ensure the environment risks are under the control, many studies consider a different strategy and parameters to achieve this goal. In this research, the control strategy of the delayed coking unit was developed within four loops to help in reducing coke generation. Control and tuning coke unit carried out through Matlab software and different stability checking tools for example Root Locus Bode and Nyquist plot considering parameters such as time rise, offset, overshoot and settling time. So according to the result all the system was stable. For loop 1 the P Controller was selected as the most suitable controller due to their effective response of system characteristics which represented in a rise time of 0.55 s, meaning it responds relatively quickly. However, the overshoot 1.88 and settling time 9.84 s indicate large oscillations and slow stabilization. The offset 1.505 shows a noticeable steady-state error. In the following loops from 2 to 4. The PID controller has been selected because it gives the best overall performance for the rest loops (loop2,3, and 4) in terms of overshoot (0.617, 0.262, and 0.64), rise time (0.374,1.41, and 0.111), settling time (6,38,27.2, and 1.68), and decay ratio (0.381, 0.0686, and 0.4096) respectively
