About the Journal
Focus and Scope
The Journal of Karary University for Medicine and Health Sciences (JKUMHS) is a peer-reviewed, open-access scholarly journal dedicated to publishing high-quality research in all areas of medicine and health sciences. The journal aims to advance scientific knowledge, support evidence-based clinical practice, and promote interdisciplinary research addressing local, regional, and global health challenges.
JKUMHS welcomes original contributions that enhance the understanding of disease mechanisms, improve diagnostic and therapeutic approaches, and contribute to the development of healthcare systems. The journal places particular emphasis on research relevant to developing countries and resource-limited settings.
The journal covers, but is not limited to, the following main areas:
1. Clinical Medicine and Medical Specialties
Research in all clinical disciplines including internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, cardiology, neurology, oncology, dermatology, and emergency medicine.
2. Public Health and Epidemiology
Studies on population health, disease prevention, epidemiology, health promotion, environmental and occupational health, and healthcare systems.
3. Basic Medical Sciences
Fundamental biomedical sciences such as anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, pathology, microbiology, immunology, and genetics.
4. Biomedical and Health Technology
Innovations in medical technology including biomedical engineering, medical devices, health informatics, artificial intelligence, and telemedicine.
5. Pharmaceutical Sciences and Therapeutics
Research on drug discovery, pharmacology, clinical pharmacy, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, toxicology, and therapeutic practices.
6. Nursing, Allied Health, and Medical Education
Topics related to nursing science, allied health professions, patient care, and advancements in medical and health education.
Peer Review Process
JKUMHS follows a double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality and integrity of published research. All submitted manuscripts are initially evaluated by the editorial team for suitability and compliance with journal guidelines. Suitable manuscripts are then sent to at least two independent reviewers with expertise in the relevant field.
The final decision on acceptance, revision, or rejection is made by the Editor-in-Chief based on reviewers’ comments and recommendations.
Open Access Policy
This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge. All articles are available without subscription or payment.
Publication Frequency
The journal is published quarterly (four issues per year).

JKUMHS adheres to the highest standards of publication ethics and follows international guidelines such as those of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). All submissions must comply with ethical standards related to human and animal research, including informed consent and ethical approval where applicable.
Archiving
The journal ensures long-term digital preservation of its content through the OJS archiving system and institutional repositories.

Authors retain copyright of their work. Articles are published under a Creative Commons license (CC BY or as specified by the journal), allowing unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited.
